Many readers have made comments about the full interview of Pope Francis that I sent to all who are subscribed to Flocknote. Last week I sent a link to the full interview as published in Thinking Faith, a journal published by the Jesuits in England.
It is important to make the distinction between what the mainstream media reports and what is actually said or done in the Catholic Church. There are many biases and misreporting about issues that are often weighty and therefore misrepresented.
The Pope did not say anything contrary to the consistent position of the Church concerning abortion or homosexuality. The interview was basically addressed to his Jesuit brothers and he addressed a range of topics. His comments at the beginning of the article are interesting concerning his difficulty with interviews. Don’t take it from me, I encourage that you read the whole article. I really like the way the Holy Father speaks. You might also enjoy his daily homilies. We have the privileged blessing of being taught by our Holy Father, the successor of St. Peter everyday.
