Message from the Director of Religious Education (DRE)
May the blessings and love of Christ be ever present in your homes and hearts!
My name is Melany A. Gallegos and I am the newly appointed Director of Religious Education at San Felipe de Neri. It is with the greatest humility and submission to God Almighty that I excitingly begin this journey in faith with you, the parish of San Felipe de Neri.
I had the great privilege of being able to work with Matthew Gill, former DRE at San Felipe de Neri, and was inspired by the many good and fruitful programs he oversaw during his tenure. Father Dennis Garcia and I wish to continue to foster and support the programs we have in place with a few revisions and new ideas.
Education in matters of faith and spirituality is an ever ongoing process and must be recognized as such. Pope Benedict XVI has called the church to an, “authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord, the One Savior of the world,” (Porta Fidei 6) and has declared that a “Year of Faith,” will begin on October 11, 2012 and conclude on November 24, 2013. Inspired by this declaration our Religious Education programs this year will be run and centered on this call for renewal.
By the grace of God we hope to implement various opportunities for you and your families to answer the call our Holy Father has issued to authentically renew, in your hearts and home, the message and love of Christ.

Mensaje de la Directora de Educación Religiosa (DRE)
Que las bendiciones y amor de Cristo este siempre presente en sus hogares y corazones!
Mi nombre es Melany A. Gallegos y soy la recién nombrada Directora de Educación Religiosa en la Parroquia de San Felipe de Neri. Es con la mayor humildad y sumisión a Dios todopoderoso que comienzo con alegría un nuevo camino de fe con ustedes, los feligreses de esta parroquia.
Tuve el gran privilegio de poder trabajar con Matthew Gill por una temporada antes de que dejare este puesto importante en la parroquia. El Señor Gill inspiro muchos buenos programas durante su tiempo en la parroquia que siguiéremos. El párroco, Padre Dennis Garcia y yo deseamos continuar fomentar y apoyar los programas que tenemos con algunas revisiones y cosas nuevas.
Educación en materia de fe y espiritualidad es un proceso continuo nunca y tal debe ser reconocido. El Papa Benedicto XVI ha llamado a la Iglesia universal celebrar una, "conversión auténtica y renovada al Señor, el Salvador del mundo," (Porta Fidei 6) y ha declarado que un "Año de la Fe," comenzará el 11 de Octubre de 2012 y concluir el 24 de Noviembre de 2013. Inspirado por esta declaración nuestros programas de Educación Religiosa este año estarán centrados en este llamo a vivir nuestra fe.
Con la gracia de Dios esperamos implementar diversas oportunidades para que ustedes con sus familias puedan contestar el llamado del Santo Padre que una llamada auténticamente renovar, en nuestros corazones y en nuestros hogares, el mensaje y el amor de Cristo.
Espero llegar a conocerlos como feligreses de esta parroquia y obrar con cada uno de ustedes el crecimiento de nuestra fe.
